Here are a few resources that you might find helpful as you preach, teach, and lead your congregation in creation care:
- Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition’s Interfaith Worship Resource on Earth Stewardship 2014. This collection of resources is intended to assist you in making your worship plans around an Earth stewardship theme. It includes sample sermons, prayers, worship ideas, quotes, scripture suggestions, denominational environmental statements, and links to additional resources.
- The NRSV Green Bible, published by Harper One, 2008. Biblical texts relating to creation are printed in green for easy reference. It also includes scholarly articles, biblical stewardship themes, prayers, links to further information, and a green subject index.
- Rev. Peter Sawtell, the Director of Eco Justice Ministries out of Denver, writes a weekly reflection called “Eco Justice Notes.” These are excellent articles that link faith and ecology. They are timely, insightful, inspirational, well-balanced, well-researched, and practical.
- Book Suggestions linking faith, ecology, and spirituality.
- Sermon by Rev. Tom Are of Village Presbyterian Church, “He’s Got the Whole World’s Climate in His Hands”
- Green Sermons by Rev. Helen Nelson, “We are Prayers in Christ” and “Why are You Crying?”
- An Interview with Rev. Richard Cizik on “The Great Warming”
- A Green Sermon by Tom Are at Village Presbyterian Church “Meeting the World at My Dinner Table”
