Carol Meyer, Executive Director carolm@ssckc.org “I believe, along with theologian Thomas Berry, that the Great Work of our day is to learn how to live in harmony with this sacred planet. I’m happy to be of service toward this end, as is our organization.” Carol, MA in Theology, brings many years of experience in church ministry and the nonprofit world to her leadership role. Her interest in social justice led her to be involved in creation spirituality and creation care, and she has pursued that interest for the past 12 years. She has been active with the Green Team at her church for five years. She is a former writer for the National Catholic Reporter’s ecology blog.

Christina Yates, Communications Coordinator christinay@ssckc.org Christina joined SSC in 2013 after finishing her undergraduate degree at Luther College.  With a degree in Environmental Studies, she has an extensive knowledge of environmental problems and solutions to address and encourage sustainable thinking. She has worked with sustainability initiatives on a variety of levels. She was the first sustainability intern to work with the City of Decorah, Iowa and has coordinated and led successful programs involving writing policy and organizing campaigns for sustainable food, helping her alma matter transition to low-flow water practices, etc. She has experience doing interfaith work in Denver where she led workshops on energy conservation practices. With a desire and urgency to ensure a sustainable future, she sees the faith community as a primary means to uphold the ethics and spirituality of the Earth Community.
