What is a Recycling Event?
- SSC arranges for a truck to come to your congregation’s parking lot.
- SSC takes care of getting any permits necessary
- Congregation and community members bring donations (see full list of items click on the “Donate Your Stuff” box here).
- With your volunteers, SSC helps collects the materials and salvages everything we can!
- Additionally, this event helps support SSC’s work by asking each car dropping off items at this convenient event to make a $20 tax deductible donation to SSC.
Why Host an Event?
- Help your congregation participate (both by donating and volunteering to work an hour or two) in a “green” activity.
- Educate members about recycling as well as help the community.
- Help the Earth by keeping items out of landfills such as toxic material found in electronics.
- Support Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition
When & Where?
- Your congregation’s parking lot, on a Saturday day from 9:00-1:00 p.m. now though October (later if the weather is good) -Contact us if you would like an alternative day-
Who?
- Congregations from all over the KC Metro and surrounding area. This is an opportunity to involve the community with your congregation! Feel free to forward this on to others who may be interested.
