100 Sermons for the Earth

There is a spiritual, religious, and moral imperative to be good stewards of the Earth and its resources. Communities of faith have an important role to play in meeting the environmental challenges currently facing the planet.

Throughout the year, clergy give talks and sermons on a wide range of subjects that are important to their ministry. Will you consider giving at least one in 2013 for the Earth?

If you make this commitment for the Earth, SSC will commit to support you with helpful resources that will make creating and delivering your talk or sermon as easy as possible.

Our vision:

100 ministers or religious leaders committed to giving one message during 2013 on taking care of the earth.

It could be on the Feast of St. Francis Assisi on October 4, Mother’s Day to celebrate Mother Earth, or when and if your congregation has an outdoor service.

What people are saying:

“Thank you for this beautiful worship resource guide! I will use it not only for my Earth Day Service but in other ways throughout the year! I have sent [the 100 Sermons for the Earth] announcement to all of the clergy groups I take part in (approximately 30 other churches). Blessings to you for your work in creating the world we so love!”

-Rev. Dr. Shannah McAleer, Unity Church of Lawrence
