Reducing and Recycling and Why It’s Important

The program will examine:

  1. What happens to the environment when we consume too much and what can we do about it.
  2. Curbside recycling and how to make it easier…information and tips will be provided and recycling questions answered

Included will be information on:

  • How to recycle paper, plastic, metals, and glass. Included will be specifics to make your recycling much easier. When we get done you will know exactly what to do.
  • What to do with yard waste, electronic waste, and hazardous waste.
  • The plastic dilemma and what we can do about it.
  • How to recycle hazardous and electronic waste

Presenter Bio
Kathy Corbin is a retired business owner who cares a lot about the environment.  She is a volunteer on the Leawood Sustainability Advisory Board and has contributed recycling information for the last two years at their annual Sustainability Summit. She is an advocate for doing whatever we can to sustain the planet for ourselves and future generations.  She believes there are many changes we can make in our daily lives that will have a positive impact on our environment both at home and in the community.
