Laudato Si’–Further Thoughts on Pope Francis’ Letter

April 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Program Description:
Using Laudato Si’ as an outline, we will look at what is happening now in our world in terms of our air, water, and soil; the rate the extinction of species; global warming and climate change; and political and economic life in the United States and internationally.  We will consider the human causes of the crisis the whole human family faces in terms of the degradation of our environment and the human agents and sectors of human activity that need to be part of a solution and the urgency of a solution.  And we will look again at the biblical, theological, and spiritual sources of inspiration and motivation for Christians to be active in meeting this crisis.

Presenter Bio

J., is a Jesuit Catholic priest and currently serves as a Parochial Vicar at Saint Francis Xavier Church at 52nd & Troost in Kansas City, Mo.  He will guide us in exploring Pope Francis’ call, focusing on the practical implications for our lives as together we care for our common home.
